Access to Credit Card Data on Volusion Orders Last Updated 9/9/2009 |
|
Access to credit card data within Volusion is limited. Volusion will only display the last four digits of customers' credit card information within Volusion's Orders section of the Administration Page. This information cannot be exported from the Volusion system - only manually viewed. Furthermore, though Volusion makes use of, it does not store CVV2 security verification numbers for credit accounts it processes. These restrictions were designed for security purposes in conjunction with the Payment Card Industry Security Consortium's best practice guidelines and suggestions. Full-track credit card data cannot be displayed or exported from Volusion V5 in any way.
These restrictions will in no way interfere with merchants' ability to sell online with Volusion. Orders can be processed with Volusion successfully with these security restrictions in place. These security measures were designed in order to reduce the risk online merchants run of having sensitive, customer data being compromised. Some merchants however, may find it necessary to obtain the full credit card number and associated data from their customers' orders within their store. Volusion does not wish to hinder our clients' ability to sell online with our e-commerce solutions. If you as a merchant feel there is an issue with these restrictions, please contact Volusion technical support from your my.volusion.com account with the subject line, "Request for credit card viewing access". Please provide any and all information you have in regards to the necessity of this request. A Volusion representative will respond to the ticket shortly. Tags:
