my.volusion.com - Adding Users
Last Updated 11/5/2009

Volusion users have access to a full-featured account management and information system located at my.volusion.com. Volusion users can simply log into their account at my.volusion.com account to view and create messages to and from Volusion support, view their monthly billing information and manage their account information such as payment methods and more!

If you are the primary owner on your Volusion store account, you may have a staff of designers, managers, developers or other people working with you who may need to contact Volusion for support. Granting access for your staff to contact Volusion is simple - just create an account for your staff members at my.volusion.com. The following details how to add users to your Volusion store's account.

Getting Started:

  • Log into your account at my.volusion.com. Note: Only the primary administrator has initial access to create new users within my.volusion.com
  • Once logged in, under the My Account header within the left hand navigation menu, click on the link labeled, Manage Users.
  • Within the Manage Users page, click the blue, Add New User link.
  • If you have more than one store hosted through Volusion, make sure you choose the appropriate store's domain from the drop-down menu. Then fill out the first name, last name and email address of the user you wish to add to your my.volusion.com account and hit Save.
  • Once the user has been added, a pop-up confirmation message will appear. Also, an automatically-generated password for the user will be emailed to the address you provided when you created their account.
  • Finally, you will need to set the user's permissions. The newly created user will appear in the Users drop-down menu along with a list of possible permissions for that user appearing below the drop-down. Check the appropriate permissions you wish to assign that user and click Save.

Note on Creating Additional Users:

Please note that once you've created a new user within your my.volusion.com account, that user will receive an e-mail notifying them that their account has been created with and additional e-mail containing login credentials for that user.

However, if the user you are adding to your my.volusion.com account has already been granted access to my.volusion.com (e.g. a feelance designer you've hired who has performed work for other Volusion-based merchants in the past), this user will already have a valid set of login credentials and will only reiceve an e-mail stating that they have been made a member of your my.volusion.com account.

Summary:

That's it! Your newly created user can obtain their password from the email my.volusion.com automatically sends to them. They can then log in and create, view or reply to tickets depending on the permissions you set for them. If you need to create additional users, simply repeat the process above. If you need to remove users, simply select the user from the list of existing users and click the "Delete" button once the appropriate user has been selected.
