PSI Gate is one of two gateways that Volusion supports for Canadian-based merchants (the other supported gateway being Beanstream).

PSI Gate provides sales, authorization and capture features within Volusion. Note that PSI Gate also provides credit and void features as a gateway however, these features are only accessible through the PSI Gate online web interface and not through Volusion Winter '09 or V5.

To setup PSI Gate for use with your Volusion Winter '09 or V5 store, do the following:

• Navigate to Settings > Payment in your Volusion administration area.
• Under the Payment Gateways section set the Merchant Gateway Country to Canada.
• Set the Merchant Gateway Name field to Other.
• In the blank field below Merchant Gateway Name, enter PSIGATEXML.
• Enter your PSIGate Merchant ID in the first (Custom) field.
• Enter your PSIGate Password in the second (Custom) field.

Once all your information is entered in, click the Save Changes button at the bottom.

Note - If your payment authorization settings are configured to Authorize at Sale, Capture at Shipping, PSI Gate requires you to uncheck the "Use most secure settings" checkbox under the Credit Card Storage Policies header and set the "When Should Credit/Debit card data be deleted" option to Capture in order for the gateway to function with your Volusion store. This requirement only applies to merchants using the Authorize at Sale, Capture at Shipping option. Failure to do so will cause an error in processing credit transactions using PSI Gate.

As of March 2009, PSI Gate is no longer the most feature-rich, 3rd party gateway provided for use with Volusion for Canadian merchants. Beanstream is now the preferred gateway for Canadian merchants: http://store.volusion.com/kb_results.asp?ID=487
